Life With A Little Sister

I just thought I'd let everyone know that everything is going well at our house. Or, "wonderfully chaotic," as Mom likes to say. Chaotic including things like me and Austyn's screaming matches, our trips to the stores Mom's too embarrassed to return to, and Mom trying to identify the remains of the many creatures the dogs proudly bring back from the woods to show Mom. And wonderful being all the cute things we do to make Mom smile :)
Me and Austyn get along better each day. I don't like to be around her all the time, but as long as I'm not trying to do things like put her outside with the dogs at night Mom says we're good. I still like to tickle Austyn's toes and I even snuggled her up in her blankie this morning which made Mom proud. I also like to read stories with her and watch Dad's videos together.
Austyn's growing like crazy. At her one month check-up a couple weeks ago she was in the 90th percentile for her height and weight. Mom's excited that Austyn might get the height Mom wishes she had. Austyn continues to be a happy little girl smiling all the time, just not for the camera (little stinker :)
Some pictures of our growing girl...
Sooo big
I see you Mommy
Big stretch
Just a smirk for the camera :)
And some pictures of me...
Giving Austyn a stroller ride,

Checking on the geese to make sure the dogs are doing their job of keeping the geese in the pond and out of the yard,

Getting ready for a wagon ride while Austyn enjoys her stroller,

Chasing Mom and Austyn,

Gathering much needed kitchen utensils,

Ah, a whisk! Just what I needed!

Sleeping on the job :)

Austyn Jo

Hi everyone! Well, my baby sister is almost one month old already so it's probably time we get some pictures of her up on the blog!
Austyn Jo was born on February 4 at 10:19 p.m. She weighed 8 lbs., 7 oz. and was 21 inches long. Mom and Dad thought she was going to be born on her due date just like me, but she decided to hold out one more day so that she could be born just as Grandma Ellen, Grandpa John, Uncle Dan, and Aunt Kelly were arriving. Austyn is a very happy little girl and is showing us some cute little smiles these days. I even sneak a smile to her when I think Mom isn't looking. I wasn't totally sold on having a sister at first, but I'm finding out that being a big brother is actually kind of fun. I like to push Austyn in her stroller and I like to try to get her to smile by tickling her cute little toes. I even allow her in my room to see my toys and read my books with me now. Someday Mom might even get a picture of me holding her. (Let's not get ahead of oursevles though :) We thought we'd share some pictures that we've taken since baby Austyn was born...
Mom and baby Austyn right after she was born.

Austyn at one day old.

Ready to leave the hospital with my baby sister. (Can you believe they gave us the room at the very end of the hall? They must have known we wouldn't be the quietest bunch:)

Having fun with Dad back at home.

Dad and Austyn relaxing.

Catching a little nap.
Trying to convince Mom and Dad I should take the canoe out.

Helping Dad unload wood.

Hanging out with Mom.

Enjoying the nice weather.

Austyn loves her snuggly My Little Pony blanket Grandma Robin made. I bet you'd never guess My Little Ponies were one of Mom's favorite things!!!

Naptime...the only time Mom and Dad could get a picture of me and Austyn :)

Being a big brother is a tough job...

But I think I'm doing a great job so far!!

Let It Snow!!

I woke this morning to find...snow!
So, straight outside I went to get to work, equipped with my snow tools: a shovel, rake, and hoe.

Kota's so silly and got snow all over him. Don't worry, I tried to keep him cleared-off too.

I may not have had enough snow to go sledding, but a wagon ride is always just as fun.

CELEBRATE!!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! We missed everyone back home and want to thank everyone who sent me nice Christmas presents in the mail. Here's some pictures of me enjoying some of my fun new presents...

And Mom got her wish of having some snow for the holidays. We almost had a "white Christmas," (It was one day late).
Since there's only like one snowpolow in the whole county, I did my part to help clear the roads a little bit...

And there was still some snow left on the ground for Mom's birthday!

Do you like the huge birthday balloon I picked out for Mom?!

I even helped make Mom's birthday cake, and waited patiently all day long to light the candles.

Happy New Year to you all!

Bedtime

Things needed to ensure a good night's rest...
Tractor-check
Baseball bat-check
Wooden train-check
Jar of peanut butter-check
PVC pipe-check, check

Quite the array of bedtime items, don't you think?

Bedtime Cowboy

Settlin' in for some rest the way the cowboys do it. Now, all I need is that horse Mom and Dad say they're gonna buy for me someday.

Fun Stuff

Mom keeps hoping for a snowstorm to hit North Carolina so that we can have some snow for the holidays. Well, Saturday night Mom got a little bit of her wish. Yep, we actually got a little snow! It only lasted for about an hour, but Mom made sure we went outside to make the most of it even though it was bedtime.

You can barely see the flecks of snow, but I swear we're not making this stuff up.

This weekend was also fun because we finally had another Celtics game to watch on tv. I was pretty into the game and was copying some of Shaq's dunks.

I like being sneeky these days.
Shhh...Dont' tell Dad
