Union Point Park And More

Union Point Park in New Bern is one of my favorite parks, and now that the new drawbridge is open, I get to visit it all the time! Last week I got to go the Festival of Fun at the park.
I got to drive a fire truck for the first time! It was lots of fun!
But, my favorite thing was playing on the swings with Dad!

At Union Point I like to find lots of animals. There's ducks, and seagulls, and squirrels, and... the nicest bears!

Well, maybe not this one. He got my finger, OUCH!

Now, back to the squirrels. I found this really cool tree that they like to climb.

And I like to climb it too.

"How do the squirrels get way up there?"
During the week when Mom and me have to run errands we go to the park first in Mom's attempt to "wear me out" so that I don't want to run all over the place. She thinks she's so smart. I like to prove her wrong.
Like this day. I was having fun feeding the ducks. Then, I decided I'd rather be in the water with the ducks. Mom let me walk in a little bit since I was wearing sandals. Of course I didn't stop there. By the time we left the park I was drenched and needed a bath with water bottles and baby wipes, and a wardrobe change before heading to the grocery store.
With the warmer weather comes a lot more time outside to play, and more things for me to help with outside. I love pushing the lawnmower around before we start it up. Mom and Dad were surprised because they thought it would be too heavy for me. But, I fooled them. After I finished with our yard, I even took the lawnmower down the street to help out some of my neighbors. They too were impressed with me.
I've also been working my muscles so that I can take my puppies for walks.

Lakota is still too strong and fast for me, but Kiara walks slow so that I can keep up with her.

Well, most of the time. "Slow down, 'Rara'"

The last fun new Spring thing that I've been doing is watching Dad play softball on base. I'm one of the Chieftains biggest fans. I've been taking notes and working on my skills too.
Once in a while I revert back to football season though :)

I hope you all are having a nice Spring and are enjoying the warm weather :)

South Carolina Adventure

On Friday, we all drove down to Lake Wateree in South Carolina and spent a few nights at a cabin on the lake. The weather was beautiful, upper 80s to lower 90s the whole weekend!

Since it was so warm we spent most of the daytime just hanging out in the water. I love collecting rocks so I had lots of fun finding cool rocks on the beach.

I tried to find the ones that would make the biggest splash.

Throwing two at a time was the most fun, and made the biggest splash!

In the mornings and at night we did some fishing.

I liked the little sunnies that we caught.

Dad caught us some catfish. Mom and Dad said they were really yummy, but I wasn't too sure about the new taste.

Sometimes I got bored of fishing before Mom and Dad did, but I never tired of skipping rocks.

My puppies, Kiara and Lakota, got to come too! Aren't they spoiled?!

My Kota puppy had so much fun in the river! Can you believe that one day he spent six straight hours swimming out to retrieve his frisbee over and over and over again?!

My "Rara" puppy likes to relax a bit more than Lakota. She liked hanging out in the shade and watching me, and every once in a while she would go cool off in the water.

Besides fishing and playing in the water, I also had fun exploring the big rocks,
helping gather twigs and pine needles for the camp fire,

picking some dandelions for Mom,
And finally, at the end of the day I was finally ready to just relax :)

I hope you all had a very nice Easter weekend!
